HELLO, JE SUIS NADIA

Je m’appelle Nadia et fête prochainement mes 25 ans. Je vis chez mes parents dans une maison vaste et offrant plein de possibilités. Etant la plus jeune, j’ai grandi avec un frère et deux sœurs. Tous les trois ont quitté le nid familial. De temps à autre, ils viennent nous rendre visite, ce qui me réjouit beaucoup car je m’entends bien avec eux. Depuis que je possède un iPad, ils me montrent plein d’astuces que je peux appliquer par moi-même ensuite. Cinq après-midis par semaine, je rejoins un groupe de travail. Pendant mon temps libre, j’aime bricoler, dessiner, broder ou tricoter. Ecouter de la musique ou regarder la télévision sont également des activités que j’apprécie particulièrement. Ce que j’aime le plus, c’est voyager en train ou en car postal dans le pays ou à l’étranger avec mes parents.

Encore quelque chose relevant de mon enfance: à partir de 4 ans, une logopédiste s’est rendue deux fois par semaine chez moi parce que je ne pouvais pas parler. Pendant deux ans. Malheureusement, je n’ai pas pu acquérir la faculté du langage. Cependant, l’échange fonctionnait bien au sein de la famille. A six ans, j’ai intégré le jardin d’enfants où personne ne me comprenait ; ça me rendait triste. Fort heureusement que la logopédiste et la maîtresse d’école ont suivi des cours pour transmettre à mon entourage le langage des signes. Ainsi, le monde était à nouveau en ordre pour moi. Mais en cinquième primaire, les maîtresses d’école ont changé et les nouvelles n’avaient pas de grandes connaissances du langage signé. C’est là que j’ai reçu mon premier appareil électronique, un E-talk, qui me permettait de communiquer. Ça n’a pas servi à grand-chose si ce n’est d’avoir appris à manipuler un tel appareil. Enfin, la scolarité était terminée. Par la suite, j’ai rejoint un groupe de travail, dans lequel l’on connaissait le langage signé et l’on a manifesté de l’intérêt pour le DynaVox (mon deuxième appareil) ce qui m’a ravie. Seul bémol, la fluctuation au niveau du personnel était grande et l’intérêt porté à l’appareil DynaVox s’est estompé puisque son utilisation était passablement compliquée.

Après une longue recherche et grâce à un conseil compétent, on a trouvé la solution: l’iPad – un appareil plus léger et pratique à l’utilisation. L’iPad, je peux l’emporter partout. Par exemple, je peux faire des photos qui expriment plus que les mots. Par le biais des applications, je peux dire beaucoup de choses de manière simple. Il y a un clavier, avec lequel j’aime écrire. L’utilisation d’un iPad est si simple que presque tout le monde peut m’aider si je n’y arrive pas par mes propres moyens.
